We needed a little break from life, so we packed up and took the whole family out to Grandma Mel's house. Carter couldn't have been more excited to be there ALONE with Grandma's endless supply of toys. He really used his time there to practice his swing. Tee-ball major league- watch out!
No trip to Grandma Mel's is complete with out a little hard labor at Papa Steve's farm. So Carter and Daddy did what they could. While Isaac was tasked with helping build a chicken pen, Carter had to feed the horses carrots, ride in the mule . . .watch over the baby chicks . . .
and be overall amazingly cute and charming.
We got to celebrate Isaac's birthday (as well as our 5 year anniversary!!!) with Grandma and company as well. Isaac dressed to match his cake.
The last 48 hours of our trip was filled with family fun, as Sophie and her kiddies as well as Uncle Sam and Aunt Victoria joined the party. Jonah won the prize for being the biggest baby. Here Henry plots his future revenge.
We weren't sure who was enjoying the play-dough more- Sam and Victoria or the kiddies.
We need to send a special shout out to Aunt Maddie and Uncle Skyler for sticking it out with us all week and helping with the children. Maddie may be reconsidering her life decisions after a week with us!
We finished the week with a nice dinner out. Grandpa was just glad we brought trains for him to play with.
This last shot is what I'm sure Grandma Mel pictures heaven to be like. Her bed covered in babies . . .and Sophie!
