Jonah is 19lbs 7 oz and 28 inches long. That puts him in the 90+ percentile for growth. I can't even believe it. It took Carter 15 months to achieve what Jonah did in 6. He's pretty humble about his achievements, so this blog's for you kid! (and yes that is a cinnamon bun in his mouth- he wanted to taste it . . . so we let him)
While Jonah has surpassed all his growth milestones, he's a bit slower on the some of the other ones. He still doesn't roll over- either direction. This could be because he gets very little floor time. Partly due to his brother's over zealous hugs and partly due to his love of the bouncer. He likes to keep one leg on the "entertainment arch" and the other hanging and kicking. He doesn't really coo or make any happy sounds, other than his motor boat, which runs very often.
He's finally taken to solids, but it's still a little shaky. He wants nothing to do with a bottle, unless it has karo syrup in it, then he's willing to negotiate his strict no bottle policy. He does like shoving everything else in his mouth though. Hair seems to be a particular favorite- especially Carter's. Jonah generally gets the response "No eat my hair Jonah!"
He is still pretty grumpy most of the time, though my parents have declared him a new baby after spending time with him a few weeks ago as compared with their time with him in December. But unfortunately he is not, as one of my friends put it, a baby that you could forget in the back of the car. I guess the Lord wants me to have an abundance of patience. Though to Jonah's credit, he does have yucky eczema, vial gas and an overly loving brother. We are nowhere near sleeping through the night, in fact at this point, I think I will never sleep 4 hours in a row ever again.
We have nicknamed him the "Riverside Strangler" because when we are holding him, he has a tendency to suddenly spaz out and grab at our necks. He has a hoarse voice and a husky laugh that Daddy and Carter are experts at getting. He is very ticklish and does this funny wiggle with his head moving side to side a la Stevie Wonder and has a luscious lip pout. When he is in a good mood his smile lights up big. So the verdict is we've put this much time into him, we might as well keep him.

He is a new kid and we can't wait to see him again in a couple of weeks. Granny S
